BIO-MAS Lab Biophysics of Intracellular Organization - Mechanical And Superresolution

Margie Christ is a Ph.D. student who joined the lab in January 2026. She completed her B.Sc. in physics and a B.Mus. in violin performance at Wilfrid Laurier University, before pursuing an M.Sc. in physics (specializing in quantum information theory) from the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo, where her thesis concerned secure multiparty quantum computation. Subsequently, Margie became interested in the intersection of physics and biological systems and enjoys the multidisciplinary, hands-on approach used in the BIO-MAS lab that allows her to integrate a rigorous theoretical physics background with cutting-edge experimental techniques. Margie is also interested in quantum biology, and holds an internship with the Quantum Biology Laboratory at Howard University. In her free time, she enjoys textile crafts and hanging out with her cat.
